T/5/Norfolk Shoulder Title

A brass shoulder title for the 5th (territorial) battalion of The Norfolk Regiment with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). Westlake 841.

Note: This title was worn by 'the vanished battalion', which landed at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli, in August 1915. This battalion included many soldiers drawn from the Sandringham estate, who disappeared in an action days after their arrival in Gallipoli. Their bodies were later discovered with their distinctive shoulder titles in place.

David Jason starred in a TV drama telling the story, called All The King's Men.
