8th Hampshire Cap Badge

A chromed cap badge for the 8th (territorial) battalion of The Hampshire Regiment (Isle of Wight Rifles) with a slider fastening. KK1733.

Note: The Military Insignia of Hampshire and The Isle of Wight by Terence Woods (reference 9.47) states "...the other ranks' were initially in brass, blackened brass or somewhat unusually chrome. There is informed hearsay that the chromed badge was also worn by the island's cadets."
