1st VB Northumberland Fusiliers Cap Badge

A scarce, blackened brass, cap badge for the 1st volunteer battalion of The Royal Northumberland Fusilier with a slider fastening. As KK593/Wood 204 (new edition)/202 (first edition).

Note: Wood states this badge was worn on the service dress cap/slouch hat (with a red felt backing) and dates it to c1903-08.

Wood notes a photograph of The Allan's School (Newcastle-Upon Tyne) Cadet Corps show this blackened badge worn without the red felt backing. This corps was recognised by the TF Association on 2nd May 1913 and was affiliated to the 6th (territorial) battalion of The Northumberland Fusiliers.
