Early R Warwicks Collar Badge
A scarce, white metal, early-pattern collar badge for The Royal Warwickshire Regiment with two lug fastenings (east and west). Worn circa 1894-96. Churchill 166.
Note: Churchill states this collar came into existence in 1894 and was superseded in 1896.
He adds: "As it was directed that these badges were only to be brought into use, 'when present stocks are exhausted', and a further pattern was introduced in 1896, it is perhaps doubtful as to whether they were ever worn - if they were, then only for a very short period."
