RE Ed7th Cap Badge

A scarce, Edward 7th pattern, brass cap badge for The Royal Engineer with two lug fastenings (east and west). As KK852.

Note: This is a superior quality badge, which appears to have been previously gilded (now mostly faded) - perhaps a non-commissioned officer's example?
