Norfolk Regt (Vols) FS Cap Badge

A scarce, white metal, field-service cap badge/collar badge for a volunteer battalion of The Norfolk Regiment with two lug fastenings (north and south). As Churchill 276.

Note: In relation to the regular battalions, Churchill states this badge (in gilding metal) was worn as a collar badge after around 1882 and "also worn in the field service cap up to the introduction of a new cap badge in October 1897".

Although the book does not specifically mention a white metal equivalent for volunteers, this was fairly standard practice.
