Leicestershire Regt TA Officer's Collar Badges
A scarce (non-matching) pair of silver collar badges for an officer of the 4th/5th (territorial) battalions of The Leicestershire Regiment, each with two lug fastenings (east and west). One is marked Sterling on the reverse. Churchill 546.
Note: Churchill states: "The tiger and wreath badges both in white metal and silver plate are known, they were probably taken into use after 1908 when the [1st volunteer] battalion became the 4th and 5th (TF) battalions.
"Certainly the officers versions in silver plate were used after the TA's reformations in the 1920s."
