Hants Regt FS Cap Badge

A brass (perhaps lightly gilded?) field service cap badge for The Hampshire Regiment with two lug fastenings (east and west). Approximately 21mm tall x 30mm wide. Woods 1.43 or Churchill 1001.

Terence Woods, in his book on The Military Insignia of Hampshire and The Isle of Wight, states this badge was worn circa 1881-1902 (in brass or bronze).
