Thoresby Vols Officer's SBP

A rare, gilt, shoulder belt plate for an officer of The Thoresby Volunteers (Nottingham) with the usual hook (north) and two stud fastenings (east and west). Worn circa 1803-08.

Note: There is a slight knock/nick to the left of the crown as viewed.

The Thoresby Volunteers was a 109-strong unit, raised circa 1802-03, commanded by Captain The Honourable Charles Herbert Pierepoint (2nd Earl Manvers of Thoresby Hall, Nottinghamshire).
