Wilts Regt Post-1954 Officer's Cap Badge

A scarce, silver-plated and gilt, cap badge for an officer of The Wiltshire Regiment with two long lug fastenings (east and west). The reverse is marked for manufacturer J.R. Gaunt London. As Churchill 1505.

Note: This is the short-lived Prince Philip (PP) cypher pattern - in 1954 Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, became colonel-in-chief of the regiment. The regiment was amalgamated in 1959.
