Yorkshire Regt Officer's HM Cap Badge

A nice, silver, cap badge for an officer of The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire with two lug fastenings (east and west). KK2044.

The reverse bears hallmarks for JRG&S (manufacturer J.R. Gaunt & Sons), Birmingham, sterling silver and the capital letter X (with serif) for 1972.

Note: The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire was created in 1958 by the amalgamation of the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) and the East Yorkshire Regiment (Duke of York's Own).

The regiment was amalgamated with the Green Howards and the Duke of Wellington's Regiment in 2006.
