2nd VB Border Regt HP

A rare, white metal, helmet plate for the 2nd volunteer battalion of The Border Regiment with three lug fastenings (north, east and west - one a crude repair). HQ at Kendal.

Note: This example has a non-voided centre rather than the usual 'blade' fastenings holding a red felt centre. I do not know why this is - a manufacturing error or for a deliberate reason?

I have also had a glengarry badge in the past for this battalion with the same non-voided centre.
