RE (Vols) Ed7th Cap Badge

A nice, Edward 7th pattern, silver-plated cap badge for The Royal Engineer (Volunteers) with two blade fastenings (east and west). KK881.

Note: This doesn't have the void around the laurel leaves typical of an officer's cap badge. Perhaps it is of a non-commissioned officer's quality?
