RSG NCO's Arm Badge
A scarce, silvered/white metal, arm badge for a non-commissioned officer of The 2nd Dragoons (Royal Scots Greys) with three lug fastenings (south, east and west). Linaker & Dine 11.2B.
Note: The badge is struck from a hollow die/has a hollow back with a plate covering it as often seen on early (Victorian period) NCO's arm badges. There may be a slight repair to the bottom of the badge/backing plate.
David Linaker & Gordon Dine, in their book on Cavalry Warrant Officers' And Non-Commissioned Officers' Arm Badges, suggests this badge dates to the late Victorian period.
