A rare, white metal, helmet plate for The First Midlothian Coast Artillery Volunteers with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). Litchfield & Westlake 158.

Note: Litchfield & Westlake, in their book on The Volunteer Artillery 1859-1908, state this helmet plate was worn until 1888.
