The Welsh Regt Officer's HP

A Victorian, silver and gilt, helmet plate for an officer of The Welsh Regiment with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). KK254.

Note: This version has the motto spelt Gwell Angau Neu Chywilydd. Kipling & King states the Neu spelling was changed to Na in 1891, which would date this plate to circa 1881-91.

Curiously, K&K also states the central coronet was changed to gilt in 1900 but it the centrepiece does not appear to me to have been messed with.
