West Riding Officer's HP

A nice, silver and gilt, helmet plate for an officer of The Duke of Wellington's Regiment (West Riding of Yorkshire) with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). The reverse is marked for Hobson & Sons, Lexington St, London W1. As KK246.

Note: This appears to have been a conversion from a Victorian plate, which was done sometimes to save the officer money as they had to buy their own insignia.
