C/1/Essex Shoulder Title

A brass shoulder title for the 1st (territorial) cadet battalion of The Essex Regiment with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). Wood 76.

Note: Michael Wood's book on The badges and insignia of the army cadets of Essex states this unit was formed in 1916 and affiliated with the 6th (territorial) battalion of The Essex Regiment. In 1942 it became part of the Army Cadet Force.

This title is mentioned in Ray Westlake's book on Collecting Metal Shoulder Titles but not illustrated (p104 of the second edition).
