RA (Vols) Officer's Busby Badge

A scarce, silvered, busby badge for an officer of The Royal Artillery (Volunteers) with a long slider fastening and plume-holder. Worn circa 1860-78. As KK825 or as Litchfield & Westlake 13.

Note: Norman Litchfield & Ray Westlake, in their book on The Volunteer Artillery 1859-1908, describe various small design differences. This example has the Ubique honour above a wheel with six spokes.
