8th Hampshire Officer's Collar Badges

A pair of officer's service dress, bronzed, collar badges for an officer of the 8th (territorial) battalion of The Hampshire Regiment (Isle of Wight Rifles), each with two lug fastenings (east and west). Churchill 1040 or Woods 9.52.

Note: Terence Woods, in his book on 'The Military Insignia of Hampshire and The Isle of Wight 1702-1992', points out the additional void between the top of the circlet and the bottom of the upper scroll.

He adds: "These are known to have been worn with a separate 'T' below."
