R Hants Bandsman's HP

A brass helmet plate for a bandsman of The Royal Hampshire Regiment with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). Woods 1.141.

Note: The centre appears to have two staple-style loop fastenings, which have been split open and bent over to secure the centre into the backplate.

Terence Woods, in his book on 'The Military Insignia of Hampshire and The Isle of Wight 1702-1992', dates this plate to the 1970s.
