RE (Militia) Officer's HP

A nice, gilt, helmet plate for an officer of The Royal Engineers (Militia) with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). The reverse bears a plaque for manufacturer Hobson & Sons, 1 3 & 5 Lexington St, London, W. As KK860.

Note: This is an 'official' conversion from a Victorian helmet plate, which was sometimes done after King Edward 7th ascended to the throne.
