Bugle/Oxf & Bucks Shoulder Title

A chromed shoulder title for The Oxfordshire & Buckinghashire Light Infantry with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). Westlake 1178.

Note: Ray Westlake, in his book on Collecting Metal Shoulder Titles, dates this title to post-1954.

He states: "These were worn in brass until 1954 when w.m. titles were ordered to be worn. Although w.m. titles were manufactured, the order stated that 'existing stocks of gilding metal titles will be dipped to approximate the new pattern'. This would account for the odd, chromed specimen that turns up."
