18th Foot Quilted Shako Plate

A rare, brass, quilted pattern shako plate for The 18th Foot (later 1st battalion of The Royal Irish Regiment) with two crude replacement lug fastenings (east and west). Some polish. As KK132.

Note: The usual cast iron lugs have been replaced with curious alternatives. There are two small holes drilled through the crown - presumably to nail the plate to something! Priced accordingly.
