77th Foot (?) Collar Badge

A scarce, white metal, collar badge for The 77th Foot (later 2nd battalion of The Middlesex Regiment) with two lug fastenings (north and south). As Churchill 1438.

Note: I think I have identified this ornate badge correctly - any information gratefully received. Churchill dates this collar to c1875-82.
