93rd Foot Glengarry Badge

A rare, brass, glengarry badge for The 93rd Foot (later 2nd battalion of The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders) with two rather crude replacement lug fastenings (east and west). KK566.

Note: The replacement lugs have not been set in the same place as the originals and a 'stump' of the previous lug can be seen.

Head-dress Badges of The British Army Volume 1, by Arthur Kipling & Hugh King, states this pattern was worn on the feather bonnet circa 1837-56.
