1st Foot Glengarry Badge

A scarce, bi-metal, glengarry badge for The 1st Foot/The Royal Scots with a single staple-style loop fastening (north - the east and west loops are missing). Bloomer 2, 27.

Note: These fastenings are usually found on helmet-plate centres, I have never seen one of these badges with these fastenings before.

William & Kathleen Bloomer, in their second book on Scottish Regimental Badges 1793-1971, date this badge to circa 1872-90 only.
