Manchester Regt Officer's Collar Badge

A scarce, hallmarked silver, collar badge for an officer of The Manchester Regiment with two lug fastenings (east and west). Churchill 1527.

Note: The reverse is marked F&S, for manufacturer Firmin & Sons, Birmingham, sterling silver and 1932?

Colin Churchill, in his book on the History of The British Army Infantry Collar Badge, says these smaller collar badges (approximately 21mm wide x 27mm high) were worn on the mess dress. He dates them to circa 1948-58?
