A scarce, silver, field-service cap badge for an officer of a volunteer battalion of The East Surrey Regiment with a pin fastening. The reverse is marked for manufacturer J&Co (Jennens). As Churchill 886.

Note: The crown is somewhat discoloured and the pin fastening may replace earlier lug fastenings (east and west).
