Hants Regt Officer's Forage Cap Badge

A rare, bullion, officer's forage cap badge for The Hampshire Regiment. Worn circa 1881-1899. Approximately 51mm high x 45mm wide. Woods 1.62.

Note: Terence Woods, in his book on The Military Insignia of Hampshire and The Isle of Wight, says these badges were also reported to have been worn on the puggaree.

Part of the left tip of the star is missing, there is some velvet missing on the Garter and it looks like there is a moth nip. Priced accordingly.
