Victorian Northants Regt Officer's HP

A nice, silver and gilt, helmet plate for an officer of The Northamptonshire Regiment with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). KK261.

Note: Head-dress Badges of The British Army Volume 1, by Arthur Kipling & Hugh King, states the castle was re-designed (to the three-towered version) in 1900.
