85th Foot Officer's Albert Pattern Shako Plate
An exceptionally rare, gilt, Albert pattern shako plate for an officer of The 85th Foot (Bucks Volunteers, later 2nd battalion of The King's Shropshire Light Infantry).
The plate has two lug fastenings (east and west) and three of four wire loops intact.

A scarce, white metal (perhaps silvered?), shako plate for The 8th Lancashire (Bury) Rifle Volunteers with two lug fastenings (east and west).
Note: This unit was raised in Bury in 1859 and became a volunteer battalion of the Lancashire Fusiliers in 1881 (it was re-designated as the 1st volunteer battalion in 1883). read more
