Tyneside Scottish Glengarry Badge

A 'no feet' pattern, white metal, glengarry badge for the 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 29th Battalions of the Northumberland Fusiliers (Tyneside Scottish) with two lug fastenings (east and west). KK1136 or Wood 451.

Note: Colonel Denis Wood, in his book on The Fifth Fusiliers and its Badges, describes this as the fourth pattern badge and dates it to 1916.

He states: "The date of introduction in 1916 has not been discovered but the Tyneside Scottish Brigade New Year Greetings Card dated 1 January 1917 has a detailed drawing of this pattern cap badge on it."
