RMP Buttonhole Badge

A scarce, white metal, buttonhole badge for The Royal Marine Police. The reverse is marked for manufacturer Firmin London. Rawlinson 537.

Note: John Rawlinson, in his book Personal Distinctions 350 Years of Royal Marines Uniforms and Insignia, states: "In 1940 a supply of 2,000 RMP button hole badges were ordered for wear by RM Police and RMP Special Reserve in plain clothes.'
