Worcestershire Regt Glengarry Badge
A brass glengarry badge for The Worcestershire Regiment with two lug fastenings (east and west). Bennett 354.
Note: Bennett dates this pattern to c1883 and states it can be found with both a voided and non-voided centre.
However, he says Major H. P. E. Pereira, formerly curator of the regimental museum, dated it to c1893 (referring back to 'Firm', the regimental magazine, from October 1947).
To add to the confusion, Bennett states, there is in existence a contemporary pattern book, which attributes this pattern to the militia battalions... but he is unsure of the accuracy of this.
