A rare, silvered, helmet plate for an officer of the 2nd volunteer battalion of The South Lancashire Regiment with three lug fastenings (north, east and west). HQ at St Helens.

Note: This plate has something of a blackened tinge to it. There are small pieces in leather behind two of the lugs, presumably used to secure the plate in place.  read more
