A rare, brass, round forage cap badge for The King's County Royal Rifles (Militia) with one lug fastening (west, as viewed from the rear, with the east lug missing and remnants of a solder replacement). Worn circa 1858. KK1283.

A Victorian-pattern, brass, lance-cap plate for The 5th (Royal Irish) Lancers with two screw fastenings (east and west). Rowe & Carman 67/As KK718.

Note: Rowe & Carman describe this as pattern C (the third of six). It carries four honours awarded in 1882 but not the Suakin honour awarded in 1885. This would suggest it to be a relatively short-lived pattern.  read more
